The Miami Dolphins made some major moves this offseason. And with those major moves comes major expectations.
Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa understands that; knowing that year three is going to go a long way in determining the arc of his NFL career.
Appearing on “The Fish Tank” podcast Thursday, the former No. 3 overall pick gave his thoughts on the direction the franchise:

“I guess the only word that can describe that is exciting,” Tua said. “It’s exciting times for all of us. Aside from guys we have acquired, it’s going to take work from all of us … We’ve got to do the most important thing as to why we’re here, which is just win games.”
The Dolphins started with hiring head coach Mike McDaniel, then acquired star wideout Tyreek Hill to pair with Jaylen Waddle, before landing top free-agent tackle Terron Armstead to sure up of the offensive line.
Miami also brought in guard Connor Williams, running backs Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert and wide receivers Cedrick Wilson and Trent Sherfield.
“Coach McDaniel has done a great job, not just with his staff but everyone,” Tagovailoa continued. “The new players, the guys we’ve kept. Everyone in this building is optimistic. Everyone has a high amount of character within the building. It says a lot about coach McDaniel, a lot about Chris Grier — the communication between coach and Chris.”
After his hiring, McDaniel spoke openly about Tua’s “untapped” potential. And while there’s an uptick in pressure down on South Beach this year, the QB isn’t running from it.
“I think pressure is everywhere, especially in any professional industry,” Tagovailoa said. “You’re either going to make use of this opportunity with the guys we have or you’re not. That’s what it is. I’m looking forward to making use of this opportunity.”
