There aren’t many young quarterbacks that can say they have an undefeated against Bill Belichick.
Tua Tagovailoa is 5-0 in his five starts against the New England Patriots since entering the league in 2020. Something he says is less about him and more about the team:
“I think our team is 5-0 against Bill Belichick,” Tagovailoa pointed out. “It’s never a me thing. It’s never a me thing. And I don’t think we ever look at it as, ‘oh, we beat them once, we beat them twice, we beat them five times in a row.’ Every time we face coach Belichick’s team, it’s always a challenge. And we know we’re going to get their best.”

Miami is actually 5-2 vs. New England since Tua’s arrival, but those two losses came in games that he didn’t start; one when he came in, in relief of veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick and one where Teddy Bridgewater started because Tua was out with a concussion.
Tua and the Dolphins will have the opportunity to go 6-0 when the AFC East rivals meet again in Week 8.
We’ll see where the two teams stand by the time that game rolls around.
