Tua Tagovailoa is no longer the only professional quarterback in the family.

On Monday his brother, Taulia, inked a deal with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL on the team’s practice roster.

The 24-year-old QB went undrafted coming out of Maryland despite finishing his career the Big Ten’s all-time leading passer after transferring from Alabama.

In 41 games as a Terrapin, Taulia completed 67.1% of his passes for 11,256 yards and 89 total touchdowns; all of which are school records. Tagovailoa also holds the University of Maryland’s all-time marks for completions (955) and single-season records for passing yards (3,860) and passing scores (26).

Tagovailoa previously received invites to rookie minicamps with the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks but wasn’t able to secure a spot with either team. Now Taulia joins former Maryland star Scott Milanovich who currently serves as the Ticats head coach.

While a bit undersized, Tagovailoa brings a ton of starting experience and knows how to maneuver in a pocket. It could be end up being a great opportunity for him to prove his doubters wrong and potentially find himself receiving another NFL camp invite in the future.
