BOSTON (AP) — Alex Bregman hit a three-run fifth inning, Yorden Alvarez hit his third homer in two games and Boston beat the Red Sox 10-2 on Sunday for a three-game series sweep.

It was the fifth win for the American League West-leading Astros, who swept the three-game series at Fenway Park last season. Houston has won seven of its last eight series in Boston.

Dominican Jeremy Pena added a two-run homer and his compatriot Yanar Diaz added a two-run double for the Astros, who improved to seven games over .500 (62-55), their best mark of the season.

Boston starter James Paxton left the field with right leg pain.

The Red Sox have lost four straight games and allowed a major league-worst 47 home runs since the All-Star break.

Hunter Brown (10-7) struck out nine and allowed two runs in 5 2/3 innings, while reliever Lucas Sims (1-6) took the loss.

For the Astros, Venezuela’s Jose Altuve went 3-for-4 with a run. Honduran Mauricio Dubon is 0-4 with one goal. 4-1 to Cuba Pedro Leon scored a goal.

For the Red Sox, Venezuelan Willier Abreu was 0 for 3 with an RBI.
