The Miami Heat and guard Davion Mitchell have agreed to a two-year, $24 million contract. Mitchell was set to become a restricted free agent on July 1.
The Heat acquired Mitchell from the Toronto Raptors in a multi-team trade at last season’s NBA trade deadline. Mitchell played in 30 games, with 15 starts after being acquired by Miami.
In those 30 games, the 6-foot-2 guard averaged 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 31.6 minutes per game. Mitchell also shot 50% from the field, including 45% on 3.1 three-point attempts per game.
