Jim Forbes’ major accomplishments include: a silver medal at the 1972 Olympics, a former UTEP player selected by the Chicago Bulls, over 600 career wins, the UTEP Sports Hall of Fame, as well as the only coach in the modern era to lead two schools to the state semifinals (Riverside and Andres ).
Coach Forbes had a very large positive impact on the El Paso community as a coach and educator, and this was expressed through numerous messages posted on social networks.
