The Miami Heat believe they would be a good fit for Ja Morant to rehabilitate his career should the Memphis Grizzlies decide to part ways with him. Morant hasn’t been able to stay on the floor consistently on top of any lingering issues he may have off the court or in the locker room. But the Heat and Grizzlies have not engaged in discussions at this time.
“I do not think there has been significant conversations between the two teams because, to be clear, Memphis has pushed back on any incoming trade inquiry about Ja Morant,” said Jake Fischer on his weekly YouTube stream. “To this juncture, the Grizzlies have swatted away all those calls and asks about what it would take to get him.”
Morant, who is currently signed through the 2027-28 season, has exhibited improved leadership while sidelined with an injury.
“Miami, to my understanding, has definitely spoken internally and told other teams that they believe they could be a really good situation for Ja Morant if he were to find a new home outside of Memphis.”
The Minnesota Timberwolves have also been linked with Morant as they search for an upgrade at point guard.
