The Miami Heat have exercised the 2026-27 rookie scale team options for forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. and center Kel’el Ware. This is the fourth-year option for Jaquez and the third-year option Ware.
Jaquez was in and out of Miami’s rotation in an injury-impacted season as a second-year player. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 8.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 20.7 minutes per game.
Ware became a starter during his rookie season. The 7-footer averaged 9.3 points, 7.4 rebound and 1.1 blocks in his first NBA season. Ware started in 36 of the 64 games he played, including most of the game he played beginning in late-January.
