The NBA G League has named Miami Heat two-way player Jahmir Young as Player of the Week for his performance from January 19-25. Young led the Skyforce to a 2-1 record while continuing a historic scoring streak.
Young averaged 32.3 points, 10.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds across three games during the award week. He shot 52.9 percent from the field and 78.6 percent from the free throw line while logging 40.1 minutes per contest.
The guard has scored 20 or more points in 11 consecutive games entering the week. He has also posted 30-plus points in four straight contests, becoming just the fourth player in Skyforce history to accomplish the feat.
Young has recorded a 20-point, 10-assist double-double in four of his last five games. He has handled primary offensive responsibilities while maintaining consistent production throughout the stretch.
Over 10 January games, Young is averaging 30.2 points, 9.9 assists and 5.0 rebounds in 40.5 minutes per game. He is shooting 50.5 percent from the field and 41.0 percent from three-point range during the month.
Young currently ranks second in the G League in scoring for January and third in assists per game. He also ranks fourth in double-doubles with five, second in plus/minus at plus-96, second in total points with 302, and first in total assists with 99 during the month.
