The Vera-Scuderi Group, Aranduvera Open Digital Library and AranduBook Publishing Solutions are organizing the first edition of the Prometheus National Science Fiction Competition.
The call is open to all Paraguayan citizens of legal age who, at the start of this call, have not yet published, by themselves or by third parties, any work in any format.
The opening of the works handover will begin on January 25th and run until April 25th at 11:30pm. While the date for awarding the top 10 works in the competition will be next May, as reported. The competition contains cash prizes of 1,500,000 EGP for the first place and 500,000 EGP for the second place, in addition to prizes, certificates and publication of an anthology of the ten best stories taken into account by the event jury.
The main objective of this competition is to promote creativity, especially in the field of science fiction, with the aim of expanding the literature category in the country, while promoting reading, writing, rhetorical analysis and discovering new values for national literature.
All Paraguayans of legal age, whether resident on the national territory or not, may participate in the Prometheus First Edition Science Fiction Short Story Competition.
Contestant, who is entitled to have, on the start date of the Contest, not have published, by himself or by a third party, any work of any kind, whether in print or digital, on any platform. Publications that are considered academic, scholastic, student, or promoted through writing workshops anywhere in the world are excluded.
Each contestant may participate in only one entry. If two or more contestants submit, the first submission will be considered for participation and the others will be disqualified immediately, without reading.
