Maduro threatens opposition artists living abroad | Momento.net

Nicolas Maduro

CARACAS – Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has attacked Venezuelan artists and influential people abroad who have taken part in demonstrations against him, linking them to alleged “fascist” plans and reminding them, as a warning, that their relatives are in Venezuela.

“Decide if you want to continue your career, first and foremost, with your families in Venezuela. They use them, they pay them and then they abandon them,” the leader of the socialist regime said during a speech to the leaders of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the organizations that make up the Great National Pole (GPP), the alliance that supports Chavismo.

Maduro accused the opposition and artists opposed to him of wanting to impose “threats.” He also once again insulted businessman Elon Musk, owner of the social network X, which the Chavista leader has banned in Venezuela.

“Whoever allies with the devil dries up, ends up like Elon Musk dries up. This is what the Mayameros offer to influential people and artists: betray your country, stand against your country, support hatred, and all the record companies will be yours. You will succeed and you will be the best in this world. “Lie,” he emphasized.

Last Saturday, a group of Venezuelan singers, comedians and influencers around the world joined opposition leader Maria Corina Machado’s call to take to the streets to protest Maduro’s supposed victory in the presidential election that the Venezuelan entity declared without presenting evidence.

The main event abroad was in Miami, USA. “They use them (artists) and then they kick them out,” the president said.

Against the artists

And I did not call for any march on Saturday. Did you see me call for a march? I can tell you who called for a march, people took to the streets because Maria “Fascista” Machado and the influential people called for the streets. He added that the great rallying point of the Bolivarian people today is fascism.

This is not the first time Maduro has attacked Venezuelan artists for joining anti-Maduro protests. Last week, the Chavista regime leader attacked Lele Pons, a Venezuelan singer who called for the Miami protest and who interviewed Maria Corina Machado on Instagram Live.

“Influencers are controlled by the owners of social networks. I like to tell the truth, no one will silence me, I will call each one of them by first and last name, just as I called them at the Cucuta concert and they dried up. Now there is a certain Lele Pons and she wants Miami with a concert on Saturday to impose a government in Venezuela, but who said that Lele Pons is a politician?
