The Miami Heat have re-signed guard Gabe Vincent to a two-year, $3.5 million deal according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Similarly to Max Strus’ two-year deal, Vincent’s is expected to be a standard minimum contract and not a two-way deal.
Two seasons removed from appearing in just nine games, Vincent played the maximum 50 games allotted for two-way players last year.
The 25-year-old averaged 4.8 points and 1.3 assists in 13.1 minutes per game, shooting 37.8 percent from the floor and 30.9 percent from the 3-point line. He sported a 49.8 true shooting percentage with a 7.6 player efficiency rating (PER).
At the time of publishing, the Miami Heat have ten players on its roster: Kyle Lowry, Jimmy Butler, Duncan Robinson, P.J. Tucker, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Strus, Dewayne Dedmon, KZ Okpala and Vincent. He is currently slotted as the Heat’s backup point guard.

Vincent enters restricted free agency and it’s feasible that he returns with a close-to-minimum contract. If the Heat don’t have enough roster flexibility and want to keep Vincent as insurance in the G-League, Vincent signing a two-way contract makes sense. However, depending on how the roster shakes up, Vincent could carve out a minimal role off the bench — assuming he re-signs.
