Pep Guardiola did not pay attention to the Madrid press after Manchester City won the Champions League

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola confirmed that his team played a “great match” against Real Madrid, which they defeated on Tuesday 4-3 in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.

“It was a great match for both teams. We did a lot of good things,” the Spanish coach told BT Sports.

“Unfortunately, we conceded goals and could have scored more. We played a great match against a great team.”

Later, at a press conference, Guardiola insisted that “it was a good football match between two high-quality teams”.

“We could have done a better result, but we have to play both games well. We played well in the first half and the return leg will be a good test of the team’s character.”

“I am not complaining about the result or the match, we did everything to win, and we were very brave with and without the ball,” he insisted.

Guardiola indicated that, “We knew there were two matches, and although we would have achieved a better result today, we will have a very good match at the Bernabeu.”

Controversy at a press conference

Pep Guardiola kept his streak and did not pay much attention to the Madrid press and only responded with a few words at a press conference.

This controversy comes after the quarter-final match against Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals, and now the coach prefers not to make many statements.

In the TV interview with Movistar, Pep answered in one-syllable or very short terms. “That’s how it was,” he replied to the exchange, or if he was enjoying the match crazily off the bench.
