The Miami Heat and Precious Achiuwa have held discussions as the team addresses its lack of frontcourt depth. The Heat drafted Achiuwa in the first round of the 2020 draft before trading him to the Toronto Raptors in 2021 as part of the Kyle Lowry deal.
Achiuwa was traded by the Raptors to the New York Knicks 2024 as part of the OG Anunoby deal.
Achiuwa was on a one-year, $6 million contract last season and averaged 6.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in 20.5 minutes per game.
The Heat currently lack room under the luxury tax to sign a player for even the veteran minimum, but that could be remedied if they were to waive Terry Rozier.
