The 4th FISU America Basketball 3×3 Championship will be held in Lima in 2022 | USIL | lime | RMMD | Total Sports

April 11, 2022 by Hoops Hype

Everything is ready for a new sporting event in our capital. FISU América 3×3 returns after two years of suspension due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and will be held in Lima. The region’s most important international college basketball tournament takes place from July 17-23.

The official announcement will be made on April 19 at the University of San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL) facilities on Campus 2, located at Avenida La Fontana 750, La Molina.

The press conference will include the participation of representatives from the University of San Ignacio de Loyola, the University Sports Federation of Peru (FEDUP) and the International Federation of University Sports (FISU) America.

It should be noted that the study center will be the venue and organizer of the fourth unit of FISU. The tournament will take place at USIL’s Center for Academic, Athletic, and Research High Performance, in Pachakmak.

This tournament will be very relevant because the winner of the tournament will qualify for the 3×3 Universiade Basketball World Cup, which will be held in Xiamen – People’s Republic of China.

Previous FISU America 3×3

The 3×3 International University Basketball Tournament was first organized in 2017. The University of La Matanza, located in Argentina, was the first university to bring together 14 institutions.

In 2018, the tournament was held in Santa Tecla in El Salvador and had a total of 17 teams from nine countries. The last FISU America 3×3 competition was in Maceió, Brazil, where 23 institutions, with 10 men’s teams and 13 women’s teams, from 7 countries participated.
