The celebrities who love to play video games

April 28, 2022 by Hoops Hype

A great way to escape from the trials and tribulations of everyday life is to immerse ourselves in one of the many video game products we can access in the modern world. From sports-themed console titles to a range of Nintendo Switch games, there is a game and a gaming system for everyone these days, celebrities included.

In fact, for many celebrities, gaming is the perfect antidote to learning a stressful script or during some downtime on tour. Over the years, there have been a number of well-known faces who claim to unwind with a gaming session. Given the portability of our smartphones, real money mobile casino games have been opened up to people in particular, although console-quality titles and popular augmented reality games, such as Pokemon Go, have improved mobile gaming’s appeal also. Throw in console machines, like the hugely powerful PlayStation 5, and there are plenty of options to keep the rich and famous entertained.

Although celebrities attend red carpet events and stay in swanky five-star hotels, it doesn’t mean that some of them aren’t partial to the odd gaming experience. Believe it or not, you might have taken down a famous face during a Fortnite session or scored a goal against a world-famous athlete in FIFA 22. So, with many celebrities stating their love of gaming publicly, let’s take a look at some of the global celebrities who play video games.

Mila Kunis is a self-proclaimed gamer

Mila Kunis has stated her love of playing both World of Warcraft and Call of Duty in the past. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! In 2008, Kunis revealed that she was an avid World of Warcraft gamer while even belonging to a number of World of Warcraft guilds. She said: “I’m really good, I’m a really kick-ass mage. You gotta be in a guild because you gotta do raids that require 30 or 40 people. But now with the expansion pack, they’re gonna have raids that require only, like, 10 people. Oh my God, it’s such a good game. I love it.”

Although her gaming has lessened somewhat since having kids with her husband, Ashton Kutcher, Kunis will always be a gamer deep down.

Jack Black has a gaming YouTube channel

Jack Black adores gaming and even has a YouTube channel, JablinskiGames, where he shares a variety of entertaining gaming content. Black can be seen playing Minecraft with YouTube sensation PewdiePie, he is a massive fan of Red Dead Redemption 2, and he’s partial to the odd game of LEGO Star Wars, too. Black’s YouTube channel has just under 5 million subscribers at the time of writing, and it’s a place where he highlights his love of video games regularly.

Queen’s Gambit star has been playing games to prepare for role

Anya Taylor-Joy, star of the Queen’s Gambit, has been preparing for her role as Princess Peach in the upcoming Super Mario Bros animated film by enjoying a variety of Mario-themed games as she attempts to nail the role of Peach and give an accurate representation of what is a truly iconic gaming character. Although there is no indication as to whether Taylor-Joy plays games away from her homework and research for this particular role, she’s certainly enjoying it at the moment. On her gaming research, Taylor-Joy said: “The greatest part is that I get to say I am doing homework or work or research just by gaming, which is pretty great.”

Other celebrities who play video games include Ronda Rousey, Seth Rogen, Brie Larson, Henry Cavill, Zac Efron, Drake, Megan Fox, Olivia Munn, Will Arnett, and Samuel L. Jackson.
