Tyler Herro responded to Darius Garland saying that the Cleveland Cavaliers’ game plan was to “pick on Tyler Herro” on Friday.
“I’m not worried about Darius Garland,” responded Herro. “Somebody that doesn’t play defense shouldn’t be talking, either. He don’t play any defense … he don’t play no D.”
Garland made his claims about Herro following the Cavs’ win over the Heat in Game 2.
“Pick on Tyler Herro,” said Garland after Game 2. “Take care of the ball, don’t play in tight spaces and pick on their weak defenders. Go at them.”
Garland is averaging 24 points per game on 52% shooting in the series.
The Cavs are shooting 18-of-31 with Herro as the primary defender. The Cavs are also averaging 133 points per 100 possessions in the series.
Bam Adebayo defended Herro.
“Obviously, he said what he said. We all take that personally,” Adebayo said. “Not only just Tyler, we all take that personally.”
