Padres Starting Lineup

  1. LF Tommy Pham
  2. SS Fernando Tatís Jr.
  3. CF Trent Grisham
  4. 3B Manny Machado
  5. RF Wil Myers
  6. 1B Jurickson Profar
  7. C Austin Nola
  8. 2B Ha-Seong Kim
  9. LHP Ryan Weathers (2021 season stats: 2.91 ERA, 4.53 FIP, 17.9 K%, 43.4 HardHit% in 58.2 IP)

Notes: No Marlins batter knows what to expect against the rookie Weathers, who’s the son of old friend David Weathers…Meaninglessly small sample size, but Fernando Tatís Jr. has been largely silenced through his first four career games at Marlins/LoanDepot Park, going 1-for-17 with 11 strikeouts…Tommy Pham has been an on-base machine since the break (.400/.515/.680 slash line since July 16).

Marlins Starting Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. CF Starling Marte
  3. 1B Jesús Aguilar
  4. RF Adam Duvall
  5. 3B Brian Anderson
  6. C Jorge Alfaro
  7. LF Lewis Brinson
  8. 2B Isan Díaz
  9. LHP Braxton Garrett (2021 season stats: 5.17 ERA, 4.44 FIP, 13.7 K%, 38.9 HardHit% in 15.2 IP)

Notes: Brian Anderson (left shoulder subluxation) is active for the first time in two months! The Marlins were 23-24 at the time of his injury and went 18-33 without him…Chad Wallach was briefly on the active roster as insurance for Alfaro who was dealing with leg discomfort. With Alfaro evidently feeling better now, Wallach has been designated for assignment…The most well-rested options in the Marlins bullpen are Anthony Bass, Anthony Bender, Richard Bleier, Dylan Floro, Yimi García and David Hess.
