OAKLAND (CBSMiami) – Two women were attacked by a dog in Oakland Park, one did not survive.
Just before 11 a.m., Broward Sheriff’s deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue were sent to 345 E Commercial Boulevard after a 911 call reporting an animal bite.
When they arrived on the scene they found two women had been bitten.
The two women were worked for animal rescue. When one of the women was working with the dog, a described as being a large mixed breed. It got aggressive and attacked her. The second woman tried to help, but she too was injured.
Both were taken to area hospitals. The first woman attacked was transported as a trauma alert, she died at the hospital. The second woman, who had minor injuries, was treated and released.
The dog was captured and placed into a county animal control van.
Broward Animal Care said the dog has been euthanized.
