Tippett, Verhaeghe and Marchment each score twice

The Florida Panthers held a scrimmage yesterday at the BB&T Center and Team Red got the best of Team White, cruising to an 8-1 win.

Owen Tippett, Carter Verhaeghe and Mason Marchment each scored twice and Max Gildon and Eetu Luostarinen also lit the lamp for Team Red.

Noel Acciari scored the lone goal for Team White. His goal cut the deficit to 3-1.

Here are all the goals from the scrimmage courtesy of Jameson Olive. Thank you, Jameson!

Max Gildon opened the scoring early in the first period by putting puck by Chris Driedger off the skate of defenseman Kevin Connauton.

Marchment completes the scoring by coming out of the corner and finding the back of the net.

“Don’t mind if I do,” Marchment, probably.

After the game the teams played a five-minute overtime and a shootout. Driedger made some nice stops in overtime and five out of ten attempts were converted in the skills competition as White got the best of Red by a 3-2 count.

Frank Vatrano (1st), Alex Wennberg (3rd) and Aleksi Heponiemi (5th) scored for White, while Brett Connolly (2nd) and Grigori Denisenko (4th) didn’t.

Duclair (1st) and Jonathan Huberdeau (2nd) got Red off to a good start before Aleksander Barkov, Tippett and Luostarinen came up empty.
