Jeff Petry brings lots of value to your lineup. The dude brings veteran leadership. But what’s more at this point in his career, is he brings skill, which can help trickle down your team’s defensive depth. We constantly bare witness, that come the end of the playoffs, all the best defencemen in the game, are left standing. Petry brings that fifth-defenceman mentality, which can help boost the other players’ confidence, knowing they can all get the job done.
As Jeff Petry signs, we recall he was drafted in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, 45th overall, to the Edmonton Oilers. He played the first five years of his career in Edmonton, before a trade deadline swap to the Montreal Canadiens. Detroit was his fourth team.
What Does a Player Like Him Bring to Your Defensive Alignment
In all, he has 96 goals, 289 assists, and 385 career regular season games. Throughout his career, he only made the playoffs four times. Unfortunate really, but maybe it has kept him fresher at this point of his career.
In those four playoff trips, he managed 48 total games. His average ice time was 23:59. Moreover, it just goes to show some of Petry Dish‘s intangibles and why he remains such a valuable commodity on the open market.
