Smilanic puts up first multi-point game in Quinnipiac win

Florida Panthers prospect Ty Smilanic scored his second goal of the season and added an assist in Quinnipiac’s 6-1 drubbing of Holy Cross.

Smilanic jammed in a rebound with one second left in the middle frame to put the Bobcats up by a 5-1 count.

The freshman forward picked up his first NCAA assist when he got the secondary helper on Odeen Tufto’s first period goal.

Smilanic, Florida’s third round pick in 2020, registered three shots on goal and finished the game with a +1 rating.

Spencer Knight stopped 7-of-9 shots in 35 minutes to get the win in Team USA’s 3-2 victory over Finland in a exhibition game from the World Junior Championship.

He matched that number in just 36 games this season. The 25-year-old had one shot on goal and finished the game with a +2 rating

Justin Schutz had his thee-game point streak snapped in EC Red Bull Salzburg’s 4-2 loss to Hydro Fehérvár AV19 in action from the ICE Hockey League. Schutz finished the game with three shots on goal and a +1 rating.
