Their league form heading into this match is currently 2-2-1, with the one loss being the aforementioned rivalry game and 1-2-2 if you include the Open Cup loss.

New York City FC is still figuring out their game plan with the arrivals of new faces like Argentine winger Julian Fernandez, Algerian striker Monsef Bakrar, and Norwegian center back Birk Risa.
